This study was carried out to determine the ethical sensitivity levels of students enrolled in the nursing faculty. The sample of the descriptive study consisted of 594 students who were taught at the Faculty of Nursing in February - May 2018 and agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected by Personal Information Form prepared by researchers to evaluate the demographic characteristics of students and The Modified Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire for Student Nurses. The data obtained from the application (...) were analyzed using SPSS for Windows 23.0 program. The majority of the students (75.9%) participating in the study were women and 74.9% stated that they internalized the profession. The total score average of The Modified Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire for Student Nurses is 4.93 ± 0.49. While the lowest average score in all classes is “Experiencing Ethical Dilemma” sub-dimension, the highest average score is in the “Interpersonal Orientation” sub-dimension. It is the 3 rd year student with the highest average score received from the scale. It was determined that the ethical sensitivity of the nursing students was medium and there was a significant difference between the ethical sensitivity levels of the students between the classes. It is thought that ensuring the continuity of the ethical education of the nursing students will be effective in increasing the awareness of the students on the subject. For this reason, it is recommended to integrate ethical issues in all courses in the structuring of nursing education curriculum programs. (shrink)

Modern dönemde faaliyet gösteren dini kurumları inceleyen Islamic Law and Society isimli eserde Emine Enise Yakar, Suudi Arabistan’dan el-Ri’âse el-’Âmme lil-Buhûs el-İlmiyye ve’l-İftâ (İlmi Araştırma ve İfta Genel Başkanlığı, Dâru’l-İftâ), Türkiye’den Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı (DİB) ve Kuzey Amerika’dan Fiqh Council of North America (Kuzey Amerika Fıkıh Meclisi, KAFM) kurumları hakkında detaylı bilgi sunmuş, bu kurumların fetva verme süreçlerini açıklanmış ve bu kurumlar tarafından verilen fetvaları sosyal, kültürel, yasal ve siyasal konjonktürleri bağlamında karşılaştırmalı olarak tahlil etmiştir. Ülkelerdeki fetva mekanizmasının kurumsallaşma (...) sürecini inceleyen Yakar, bu çalışmasında bireysel ve kurumsal şekilde hazırlanan fetvalar arasındaki farkı açıklayarak kurumların toplum nezdindeki etkisine ve otoritesine değinmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan metot, yöntem ve fetva gibi temel kavramların teorik olarak açıklandığı giriş bölümüyle birlikte eser beş ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Suudi Arabistan’daki Dâru’l-İftâ, el-Müftü el-’Âmm, Heyet el-Kibâr al-Ulemâ ve el-Lecne el-Dâ’ime el-İlmiyye ve ‘l-İftâ olmak üzere üç ana birime sahiptir. Değerlendirilen fetvalar ağırlıklı olarak son iki alt birim tarafından verilen fetvalardır. Türkiye’deki DİB, Din işleri Yüksek Kurulu, Mushafları İnceleme ve Kıraat Kurulu, Din Hizmetleri Genel Müdürlüğü, Dini Yayınlar Genel Müdürlüğü, Din Hizmetleri Genel Müdürlüğü gibi çeşitli birimlere sahiptir. Yazar ağırlıklı olarak Din işleri Yüksek Kurulu tarafından verilen fetvaları incelemiştir. KAFM ise The Islamic Society of North America’nın alt birimi olmakla birlikte General Secretariat ve The Council Executive Committee olmak üzere iki ana alt birimden oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ağırlıklı olarak The Council Executive Committee tarafından onaylanan fetvalar değerlendirilmiştir. Kurumsal bağlamda bir anlam karmaşıklığına sebep vermemek için yazar, eserin karşılaştırmalı olan kısmında kurumların alt birimlerinden ziyade kendi isimlerini kullanmıştır ve gereken yerlerde birimlerle ilgili açıklamalarda bulunmuştur. Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten is regarded as the founder of modern philosophical aesthetics in history of philosophy. Baumgarten associates aesthetics with sensible knowledge and its perfection where beauty appears as the perfection of sensible knowledge. In this context Baumgarten, as a representative of rationalist tradition, takes as a problem that sensible knowledge being accepted as intuition or lower knowledge. According to him, things are known through superior faculties as the object of logical knowledge, while sensible things are known through inferior faculties (...) as the object of science of sensible or aesthetics. Baumgarten’s point of view makes us face a duality in regard to cognitive faculties and ways of knowing: logic and aesthetics. It is evident that the Ottoman state made radical reforms to overcome the crises it had fallen in various fields, especially since the Tanzimat era. In this context, the preparation and codification of “Majalla-i Ahkām-i Adliyya” is undoubtedly one of the most important events of both the Ottoman legal history and the history of Islamic law. It is not a whole and complete civil law since it mainly covers debts, partly property and judicial /procedural law. “Munākahāt ve Mufārakāt” subjects corresponding (...) especially to the field of family law and the related law articles are not included in Majalla. The work that forms the basis of our paper was written precisely to fill this gap. The work in the nature of translation and commentary of Kadri Pasha’s book, al-Ahkām al-shar'iyya fi al-Ahvāl al-shahsiyya, which is a draft law, was born out of the need for a compact text on family law. It is also a response to the criticisms in his era towards the Islamic Family Law verdict. Its preparation about twenty years before the Family Law Decree is also a helpful clue in analyzing the nature of the work. In addition to translation, Hasan Riza strives to make the marriage contract, the responsibilities of the spouses, divorce, lineage and alimony subjects understandable, and to respond to the criticisms on these issues. When his effort is evaluated together with the religiously referenced commentary he made to Qānūn-i Asāsī, it can be described as the proof of the accuracy of the family law judgment, especially in the classical fiqh literature, and the defense of the conformity of these provisions to intact human nature. While this article mainly examines the nature of this work, it also aims to describe the criticism issues that the author’s era produced regarding the jurisprudence. The eight blurbs (taqrīz) at the beginning of the work are indicative in this regard. Bureaucratic and scientific relations and controversial issues on the agenda can be understood from these blurbs. In these blurbs, some references are made to the feminist movement along with the observations concerning the status of women. When approaches handled here are combined with the informtion as to the historical roots and the phases of feminist movement, it would be possible to reach the intellectual memory of that period. Determination and analysis of Darguzīnī’s identity and status is an indispensable requirement of this study. (shrink)

Bu çalışmamızda Kur’an’da ifadesini bulan tufan, çekirge, haşere, kurbağa ve kan ayetleri ile onların karşılığı olarak Tevrat’ta aktarılan kan, kurbağa, sivrisinek/bit, sinek/böcek, veba/sığır hastalığı, çıban, dolu, çekirge, karanlık ve ilk doğanların ölümü belaları ; rivâyetler, Tevrat verileri ve bilimselci yaklaşım ekseninde ele alınmıştır. Çalışmamızda, Kur’an’da firavun ve âline karşı Hz. Musa’ya dokuz ayet verildiğinden bahsedilmesine binaen bu mucizelerin neler olduğunun ortaya konulması ve ilgili ayet, rivayetler ve Tevrat’taki verilerin tekâbüliyet, nedensellik, tutarlılık, kozmik-büyüsel algı ve bilimsel veriler ekseninde değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu (...) doğrultuda ilk olarak tefsir kaynaklarımızda dokuz ayetin neler olabileceğine dair ortaya konulan görüşler hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve tarafımızca da değerlendirmede bulunulmuştur. Ayrıca rivâyetler ile Tevrat’taki verilerin tekābüliyeti hususunda gerek ayetteki ilgili lafızların anlamsal çerçevesi gerekse bilimsel veriler üzerinden tarafımızca fikir yürütülmüş, söz konusu veriler; nedensellik ve tutarlılık gibi farklı açılardan değerlendirilmiştir. Konuyla ilgili olarak Doğu’da bilimselci yaklaşımların yok denecek kadar az olmasına bağlı olarak Batılı araştırmacıların Tevrat’taki veriler üzerinden geliştirdikleri bilimselci yorumlar üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu çerçevede dış faktör olarak Ege Denizi’ndeki Thera yanardağının patlaması üzerinde, iç faktör olarak da Mısır’da muhtemelen gerçekleşmiş olan tabii olaylar üzerinde durulmuştur. (shrink)

Veba, kızamık, sıtma, kolera, İspanyol gribi gibi salgın hastalıklar Osmanlı’yı her açıdan etkilemiş ve dönemin konjonktürüne göre çeşitli alanlarda çeşitli tedbirler alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada özellikle son dönemin seçilme sebebi, hem daha fazla salgın tespitinin yapılmış olması hem de bu dönem kayıtlarının fazla olmasıdır. 1800’lerden sonra Osmanlı’da belirli sebeplerle belirli süreçler ve sonuçlarıyla farklı salgınlar yaşanmıştır. Bunlardan bir kısmı mikro düzeyde bazıları ise makro düzeyde etkilemiştir devleti. Salgınlardan en çok etkilenen kesim şüphesiz çocuklar olmuştur, özellikle eğitim çağındaki çocukların hem hastalıktan etkilenme (...) süreci hızlanmış hem de en çabuk müdahale grubu olmuştur. Osmanlı salgınlarda eğitim ile ilgili ayrı tedbirler almıştır. Okulları, öğretmenleri, öğrencileri, kaldıkları yerleri ve ebeveynleri de zaman zaman içine alan bu önlem çabaları, devleti kurumsal anlamda etkilemiştir. Arşiv belgelerine baktığımızda, okulların tatil edilmeleri, aşılama politikaları, dezenfekte çalışmalarının yaygınlaştırılması, öğrencilerde ve ebeveynlerinde bu konuda bilinç oluşturma, bu konular için ayrı ödenekler ayarlanması, öğretmenlerin bu konuda maddi manevi desteklenmesi gibi hususlar salgın ve eğitim tedbirleri konusunda en çok dile getirilen meseleler olmuştur. Çoğunlukla Osmanlı ve Cumhuriyet arşiv belgeleri ve dönemin kroniklerine dayanarak, doküman analizi yöntemi ile hazırlayacağımız bu çalışma, dönemin salgınları karşısında eğitimin aksamaması için devletin aldığı tedbirleri ortaya çıkarmayı hedeflemektedir. This research examines the space phenomenon in the novel "Dreams in the Sea", which is accepted as the first novel of Aslam Reşit Jankır. The study has focused on the phenomenon of "space" and has chosen this topic for many technical reasons. Because there are many and far places in the novel, and the phenomenon of "space" dominates the events in the work. The author's emphasis on space is clearly evident from the first stage, with the text of the work (...) represented by the title "Dreams in the Sea". The semiotics of the title arouses the curiosity of entering the place (sea) where the drama of a Syrian family takes place. She is the family of the boy who became the subject of the agenda by being found drowned in his elegant dresses on the Istanbul coast. The events in the novel are productively linked to many places as they are fused with the structure of the text and are up-to-date: Village-homeland-the borders separating two neighboring countries-Mardin-Istanbul-sea-overseas countries."Real" and "imagination" are intertwined within this structure. Because the author has changed the main element in his text and has given it to the imagination with the desire to work on a new subject that excites and trembles the reader and drags them into the event. The author thus created a flavor and beauty for his text. The analyzes of this research are compatible with the mechanics of the analytical descriptive method and intersect with semiotics to the extent required by the situation. I have divided the chapters of this review into sections according to the main locations in the novel, and I have concluded it by examining the title and citing the most obvious conclusions I have reached. Çalışmamızda Kur’ân’da izzet ve mülk kavramlarının nasıl bir üslupla sunulduğu ve tefsir kaynaklarımızda izzet ve mülkün elde edilme keyfiyetine nasıl yaklaşıldığı hususu ele alınmıştır. Bu kapsamda mülk ve izzetin teminine dair âyetler incelenmiş, Fâtır sûresinin 10. âyeti ise diğer âyetlere nispetle daha ayrıntılı biçimde ele alınmıştır. Zikri geçen âyetin çalışmanın merkezinde olmasına bağlı olarak konuyla ilgili kavramsal çerçeveye söz konusu âyetteki kavramlar da dâhil edilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda izzet, mülk, amel, sâlih ve kelime kavramları makalenin sınırlı alanı kapsamında incelenmiştir. Sözü edilen (...) kavramlar incelenirken genel bir çerçeve çizildikten sonra makaledeki teze destek olacak anlam çerçevesi üzerinde yoğunlaşılmıştır. Ele alınan kavramların pek çok çalışmada ele alınmasına binaen söz konusu kaynaklara da değinilmiş fakat sözlükler ve tefsirlerdeki açıklamalar esas alınmıştır. Kavramsal çerçeveden sonra izzet ve mülkün temini hususunda ilâhî meşîet ve ilâhî yasalar eksenindeki anlayışlara yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın son kısmında özellikle Fâtır sûresinin zikri geçen âyeti ve sâlih amel kavramı çerçevesinde konuyla ilgili tarafımızca değerlendirmelerde bulunulmuştur. Bu değerlendirmelerde âyetlerin vakıa üzerinden tefsir edilmesi anlayışı ve tefsir kaynaklarında bu anlayışı yansıtan yaklaşımlar benimsenmiştir. (shrink)

The correct understanding of the Qurʾān verses is possible by examining the concepts in them linguistically and revealing the meaning they express in the integrity of the Qurʾān. The verb “h-m-m” is one of these concepts. This verb has been used as sulasi mucerred in a total of seven verses in Āl-i 'Imrān 3/122, al-Nisāʾ 4/113, al-Māʾidah 5/11, at-Tawba 9/13, 74, Yūsuf 12/24, al-Mu'min 40/5. In our study, the aforementioned verses in which the verb “h-m-m” is used, have been examined (...) through the sources of tafsir and based on the meaning of the mentioned word in the unity of the Qurʾān, the verse of "Woman had tend to him. He also tended to the woman. If he had not seen the proof of his Lord. This is what We did to drive away evil and immorality from him. Surely, he is one of Our sincere servants." (Yūsuf 12/24) has been analyzed. First of all, information about the verb “h-m-m” was given within the scope of the conceptual framework, then it was emphasized that in which verses the related verb is used and how it can be considered within the context of the verse in Yūsuf Surah and narrations about revelation reasons of this verse. In the context of the relevant verse, the views in the "Manar Tafsir" have been handled separately since it differs from almost all commentaries in terms of approach. Although it is examined how the relevant verse in Yūsuf Surah is handled in the Bible, this aspect of the subject has not been mentioned because it will not contribute to our study and because of the limited structure of the article. In the handling of our subject, as a method, the integrity of the Qurʾān within the scope of the verb “h-m-m”, the narrations about the revelation reasons and the context of the verse were taken as basis. The aim of our study is to reveal what is meant by the verb “h-m-m” in the mentioned verse, based on the uses of the verb in the Qurʾān and considering the context of the relevant verse and narrations about its revelation reasons. In this context, it can be said that the verb “h-m-m” in the relevant verse of Yūsuf Surah means to decide and attempt an attack in connection with sexual impulses. (shrink)

Çalışmamızda Hz. Musa’nın peygamberliği dönemindeki firavunun dinî konumu çerçevesinde ele alınabilecek âyetler üzerinden tefsirlerde ortaya konulan yaklaşımların ve bunların nedenlerinin tespit edilmesi, böylece tefsir kaynaklarının ilgili konuya yaklaşım seyrinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu yaklaşımlar tespit edilirken asa-yılan mûcizesi ve zikri geçen firavun bağlamındaki âyetler üzerinden hareket edilmiştir. Zira Kur’an’da mezkûr konunun ilgili âyetler bağlamında zikredildiği, tefsir kaynaklarında da bu âyetler kapsamında açıklamaların yapıldığı görülmektedir. Araştırmamızda tefsir kaynaklarındaki veriler merkeze alınmakla birlikte özellikle modern dönemdeki yaklaşımların kaynağı hakkında bilgi vermek amacıyla konuyla (...) ilgili çağdaş araştırmalar da kullanılmıştır. Makalenin “dinler tarihi” değil de “tefsir” merkezli olması hedeflendiğinden kadim Mısır dinine dair çağdaş araştırmaların sunduğu verilere daha çok dipnotlarda yer verilmiştir. Konunun işlenişinde ve okuyucu bağlamında, müfessirlerin âyetlere bakışını etkileyen tefsir anlayışları, bunun sonucunda söz konusu âyetler hakkında ortaya koydukları parçacı ve bütüncül yaklaşımları, konuyla ilgili olarak yararlandıkları kaynakların çeşitliliği ve zihin yapıları gibi unsurlar üzerinden hareket edilmiştir. Kaynak çerçevesinde ise firavun bağlamında Kur’an’ın, kadim Mısır dininin farklı yapı taşlarına karşılık gelen ifade tarzı/üslubu üzerinde durulmuştur. (shrink)

Bu çalışma, çalışanlarda işkoliklikle benlik saygısı ilişkisinde algılanan örgütsel desteğin aracılık rolünü tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma verilerini elde etmek için, Çorum ilinde bir kamu hastanesinde görev yapan 200 çalışana anket form uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Anket formunda demografik sorular dahil olmak üzere, hastane çalışanlarında işkoliklik, algılanan örgütsel destek ve benlik saygısını ölçmeye yönelik, ülkemizdeki çalışmalarda yaygın kullanılan geçerlilik ve güvenirlik analizleri yapılmış üç ayrı ölçek kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programında belirli analizlere tabi tutulmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda: algılanan örgütsel desteğin; işten zevk (...) alma (işkoliklik alt boyutu) ile kendini sevme (benlik saygısı alt boyutu) arasındaki ilişkide, işten zevk alma (işkoliklik alt boyutu) ile öz-yeterlilik (benlik saygısı alt boyutu) arasındaki ilişkide ve işe güdülenme hissi (işkoliklik alt boyutu) ile kendini sevme (benlik saygısı alt boyutu) arasındaki ilişkide kısmı aracılık rolü olduğu ve yine algılanan örgütsel desteğin; işe güdülenme hissi (işkoliklik alt boyutu) ile öz-yeterlilik (benlik saygısı alt boyutu) arasındaki ilişkide kısmı aracılık rolünün olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Critique of the Power of Judgment is the third work of Kant’s critical philosophy. Kant states that he has put this work on paper to complement his critical philosophy. This statement of completion constitutes the transition that is required between the theoretical and practical areas of philosophy. According to Kant, transition from the theortical area, or natural area to the practical area, or the area of freedom is not possible. Moreover, principals in the area of freedom need to be realised (...) in the area of nature. Kant has presented a system that establishes art as the bridge from the area of freedom to the area of nature. With regard to this system, genius is the skill that provides the rules for art through nature and as one definition of beautiful in Critique of the Power of Judgment, Kant identifies beautiful as the transition of aesthetical ideas thorough genius. This transition occurs as a result of the judgment of taste by means of the free play of imagination and understanding. My aim in this study is to clarify how imagination that is not limited by understanding widens up and is presented as [non-conceptional] aestethical ideas through art. In order to put forth this representation with all its clarity, I will try to elucidate the meaning of the transition from the practical area of philosophy to its theoretical area, which is crucial according to Kant. In this contect, I wil emphasize the nature of judgments of taste, relation of nature-art, classification of fine arts, and the role of genius in emerging aestethical ideas. (shrink)

Background Whistleblowing is an action that particularly requires moral courage. Understanding the relationship between nurses’ levels of moral courage and their whistleblowing approaches is important for reducing adverse situations in healthcare services. Objectives This study aims to understand and analyze the relationship between nurses’ levels of moral courage and their whistleblowing approaches. Research design This is a descriptive and correlational study. Methods The study sample consists of 582 nurses actively working in a province in northwest Türkiye. Research data were collected (...) using an Information Form, the Nurses’ Moral Courage Scale, and the Whistleblowing Scale. Ethical considerations Ethical approval from the ethics committee, institutional permission, and informed consent from the participants were obtained for data collection. Findings Nurses were found to perceive their moral courage as high, and their whistleblowing levels were at a moderate level. There was a significant and moderate relationship between participants’ levels of moral courage and whistleblowing levels ( p <.05). Conclusions The findings emphasize the importance of promoting moral courage and creating an appropriate environment for exposing ethical violations. This study can contribute to the development of strategies to enhance nurses’ moral courage and foster a more ethical working environment in healthcare services. (shrink)

This work investigates the possibility of iʿrâb (parsing) simple texts by utilizing simple grammar rules in the case of I’râb al-Awâmil al-mi’a. I'râb, which is the 'application of grammar on texts', is an operation of reinforcing the knowledge of grammar from one perspective, and an attempt to under-stand the text from another. Since I’râb al-Awâmil al-mi’a is the iʿrâb of al-Awâmil al-mi’a, which is a brief grammar treatise, it is clear that this iʿrâb is intended to reinforce grammar knowledge. Moreover, (...) it indicates the level of knowledge to be reinforced, as is evident from the text. We think that examining such iʿrâb works in terms of the applicability of iʿrâb, will provide data to the field of grammar teaching. The work is currently available in manuscript and consists of the object text and the author's iʿrâb. The object text of the work, al-Awâmil al-mi'a, is a textbook and the target reader of the book is beginners. It is naturally assumed that both al-Awâmil al-mi'a and its parsing were written for the same level. This work examines the validity of this assumption. In order to determine whether the rules used in the parsing are simple or complex, it was necessary to create a measure of simplicity. Three measures of simplicity have been created. If the grammatical rules used in parsing are: limited to the rules in al-Avâmil, or if they are within the frame of the main topics of grammar or if the author does not address controversial issues during the application of the iʿrâb, then they are simple rules. Moreover, in order to facilitate the achievement of our goal, we divided the sentences into simple and complex sentences, and selected our data mostly from complex sentences. We simplified complex sentences by dividing them into two types: sentences with missing elements and sentences that are semantically connected. We created a second dataset by adding some examples other than the complex sentence types. We selected the other sentence types that make up the second dataset from sentences that contain elements that al-Awāmil al-mi'a does not include. The mentioned datasets examined by utilizing the measure of simplicity that we created and the degree of complexity of the grammatical rules used in I'râb al-Awâmil al-mi'a, was revealed. (shrink)

This study aims to examine the perspectives of healers who specialize in jinx hit, evil eye touch, and the recitation of sacred verses or prayers for individuals experiencing mental health issues, and whether they collaborate with mental health experts. Using the qualitative research method, data were collected from 20 healers with depth interviews and observation techniques. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis in the 2022 Qualitative Data Analysis Program in Maxquda. According to the results of the research; it (...) was determined that the participants are interested in individuals who come for mental and spiritual-based problems and the effects of the spiritual treatment methods they apply and how reversal processes of the applicant’s progress. In addition, it was revealed that the participants generally have a positive attitude to mental health experts. In line with the data obtained as a result of the research, it is thought that spiritual practices can be included in mental health studies. Furthermore, the research reveals that spiritual support services have a historical long history, and today it is an area that developed under the name of "Pastoral Care" and "Pastoral Counseling" in the West and our country. Considering that this clinical-religious consultancy movement includes various segments of our country, it was concluded that the area needs more development and more research. The findings of the research contribute to the studies carried out in the field of mental health by emphasizing the importance of spiritual support services. (shrink)

Bu makale, kelâm söyleminde modern argümantasyon teorilerinin kullanılması gerektiğini savun- maktadır. İslam geleneği kendi istidlâl teorilerine sahip olsa da modern terminoloji ve teoriler, yorumlayıcı anlayış ve eleştirel analize yardımcı olabilir. Bu makale, Kâdî Abdülcebbâr’ın (ö. 415/1025) Hıristiyanlığa karşı kelâm ve reddiye geleneklerindeki aklî yöntemleri kullandığı Tesbît’ine odaklanmaktadır. Yine, Kâdî Abdülcebbâr’ın Hıristiyanlıktaki “İsa’nın ilahî doğası” iddiasına karşı delillerini örneklerle tahlil etmekte- dir. Among Turkic speaking countries there is solidarity in economic, political and military fields. Moreover, they carry out common studies within the universities of these countries. As a result, the relationship among the communities is getting stronger via these studies. This research serves as an example of this development. The problem sentence of the research; “Do students’ perceptions change about Turkey after they’ve completed an internship period in Turkey?”. In this research, it was studied to determine Kyrgyz students’ impression about our (...) country Turkey, before and after their intership period in Turkey. The study was implemented within the survey model design. Research’s universe is the students who study in Yusuf Balasagun Krygyz National University, Liberal Arts University, in Kyrgyzstan Turkey Manas University during their education in the year of 2018-2019. As for the research sampling, students who are in the city of Antalya for the purpose of internship were selected from Yusuf Balasagun Kyrgyz National University, Liberal Arts University, in Kyrgyzstan Manas University. A total of 49 students were attented the research. According to the results of the research; internship students have generally positive opinions about Turkey and Turkish people. This is pleasing result for our country. The students think that the Language Enhancement Program will be useful for them to learn Turkish better. (shrink)

There is no co-ordinated focus on liabilities arising from nurses’ medical interventions in terms of occupational, administrative, civil legal and criminal activities. However, the Turkish Criminal Code, the Turkish Medical Ethics Code of Practice, and guidelines for patients’ rights offer some framework for the relevant ethical principles and responsibilities of nurses. The aim of this study was to investigate the evaluation of nursing students’ training in their legal liabilities. The sample consisted of 309 students who were taking a course entitled (...) ‘Nurses’ legal liabilities under Turkish criminal and civil law arising from medical interventions’. Data were obtained by means of self-administered questionnaires and McNemar’s test was used to evaluate the answers. In conclusion, after their training, a great majority of the students demonstrated an improvement in terms of their percentage of correct answers relating to malpractice. This does not, however, mean that they will not face malpractice charges after graduating, but their increased awareness of the issue may encourage them to make more effort to reduce the risk of mistakes. It is recommended that nursing faculty carry out studies into medical malpractice, that they focus more on this subject in nursing education, and that all nursing schools review their curricula from the point of view of malpractice. Background Pain management is a fundamental human right for everyone who experiences it. The management of pain is an ethical obligation for all health professionals. Professional values have an important place in appropriate clinical decision-making. Research aim This study was conducted to determine the relationship between nurses' ethical attitudes in pain management and their compliance with professional values. Research design The study was conducted as a descriptive and correlational research. The study data were collected by online survey method using the (...) Introductory Characteristics Form, Ethical Attitude Scale for Pain Management in Nursing, and Nurses Professional Values Scale – Revised. Participants and research context The population of the study consisted of nurses working in tertiary treatment centers in a country. A total of 388 nurses participated in the study. Ethical considerations Ethical approval was obtained from the University Ethics Committee. Consent was obtained from the nurses. Results The mean total score of the Ethical Attitude Scale for Pain Management in Nursing was 98.96 ± 9.37, and the mean total score of the Nurses Professional Values Scale was 101.51 ± 15.20. The scores of the Ethical Attitude Scale for Pain Management in Nursing were positively and moderately correlated with the total scores of the Professional Values Scale. Compliance with professional values explained 41% of the total variance of ethical attitude for pain management. Conclusions In this study, it was found that nurses' ethical attitudes for pain management and compliance with professional values were at a high level, compliance with professional values was associated with ethical attitudes for pain management, and ethical attitudes for pain management decreased with increasing working years. A nurse with high ethical sensitivity and compliance with professional values can easily recognize ethical problems, effectively manage the ethical decision-making process, and provide appropriate patient care. This article reassesses the concept of identification in line with the increased importance phenomenology has taken on in film-philosophy of the 1990s and 2000s. In the 1970s and 1980s, a Lacanian psychoanalytic interpretation of identification dominated film theory and criticism, and spectatorial engagement with elements of films was understood as what psychoanalysis calls secondary identification – the identification with stable subject-positions (characters) in the film-text. But non-Lacanian psychoanalysis and Merleau-Ponty’s existential phenomenology offer film-philosophy a very different understanding of identification as (...) a non image-based, ‘blind’, bodily affective tie that is established between spectators and what Vivian Sobchack describes as ‘the sense and sensibility of materiality itself’ (Sobchack 2004, 65). By first exploring how this more bodily (for psychoanalysis, primary ) identification is theorized by psychoanalysts (Freud, Paul Schilder, Henri Wallon) and by film theorists (Kaja Silverman), the article proposes that film criticism make greater use of it in order to engage more meaningfully with the visible cultural specificities – size, skin colour, age, sex – of the images of bodies viewed on cinema screens. It is not just ‘the’ body that needs bringing back into thinking about film spectatorship, but culturally differentiated bodies , both on the screen and in the auditorium. A psychoanalytic and phenomenological film criticism of embodied cultural identity, one that attends to the materiality of the film and of the body-images and objects on the screen, may be the most culturally and politically useful successor to ‘screen’ theory of the 1970s and 1980s. Adalet hem klasik hem de modern dönemde tasavvuf ve siyasetin önde gelen konularından biridir. Özellikle tasavvuf ve siyaset alanlarında, adalet kavramı olmadan sürdürülebilir bir düşünce yapısı kurmak mümkün değildir. Adalet, genellikle siyasetle ilişkilendirilse de İslam Hukuku'nda da çok önemli bir yer tutar. İslam Hukuku, adaletin sağlanması ve korunmasını temel amaçlarından biri olarak görür. Adalet, İslam Hukuku'nda sadece bireyler arasındaki ilişkilerde değil, aynı zamanda devletin ve toplumun düzeni ve refahı için de hayati bir öneme sahiptir. Bu nedenle, İslam Hukuku'nun temel prensiplerinden (...) biri adalettir ve bu prensip, İslam toplumlarında adaletin sağlanması ve korunması için çeşitli yollar ve kurumlar oluşturmuştur. İslam Hukuku’nda önemli bir yere sahip olan adalet kavramının tasavvuf ilmiyle de bağlantılı olarak ele alınması konunun farklı perspektiflerini görme açısından önem arz etmektedir. Zira tasavvuf, içsel bir dönüşüme ve manevi arayışlara yoğunlaşan bir ilimdir ancak adalet kavramı da bu bağlamda önemli bir yer tutar. Tasavvufi öğretiler, bireyin iç dünyasında denge ve adaletin sağlanması gerektiğini vurgular. Bu denge ve adalet, kişinin nefsiyle mücadelesinde, Allah'a olan bağlılığında ve diğer insanlarla ilişkilerinde kendini gösterir. Tasavvuf geleneği, bireyin içsel adaleti sağlamasını ve dengesini bulmasını ifade ederken, aynı zamanda dış dünyada adil davranışları teşvik eder. Bu nedenle, tasavvufun adaletle ilişkisi hem bireysel hem de toplumsal düzeyde önemli bir rol oynar. Söz konusu ilişkiyi anlamak, tasavvufun insanların manevi ve toplumsal hayatlarına nasıl etki ettiğini anlamak açısından kritiktir. Esasında tasavvuf-adalet ilişkisini kuran çalışmalar, adalet kavramına ve uygulamalarına daha derin manalar yüklemeyi hedeflemektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı da zikredilen hususla beraber tasavvufun adalet anlayışını ve bu anlayışın günlük hayata nasıl yansıdığını anlamak ve açıklığa kavuşturmaktır. Zira böylelikle insanlar hem bireysel hem de toplumsal düzeyde daha adil bir yaşam sürmeye yönelik kapsamlı bir anlayış geliştirebilirler. Çalışmanın diğer bir amacı ise mutasavvıfların adalet hakkındaki düşüncelerinin anlaşılmasına ve günümüzdeki adalet tartışmalarına katkı sağlamaktır. Araştırmada yöntem olarak bilhassa tasavvuf ilminin önde gelen teorisyenleri kabul edilen mutasavvıfların adalet konusundaki görüşleri esas alınmıştır. Dolayısıyla özellikle Hâris b. Esed Muhâsibî (öl. 243/857), Sehl b. Abdullah Tüsterî (öl. 283/896), Muhammed b. İbrahim Kelâbâzî (öl. 380/990), Ebû Tâlib el-Mekkî (öl. 386/996), Ebû Nuaym el-İsfehânî (öl. 430/1038), Abdülkerîm b. Hevâzin Kuşeyrî (öl. 465/1072), Muhammed b. Gazzâlî (öl. 505/1111), Muhyiddîn İbnü’l-Arabî (öl. 638/1240), Mevlânâ Celâledddîn-i Rûmî (öl. 672/1273) gibi önemli mutasavvıfların fikirleri araştırmanın kapsamını oluşturmuştur. Bu bağlamda söz konusu mutasavvıfların eserlerinde adalet kavramını nasıl ele aldıkları, adaletin dini ve toplumsal boyutlarına verdikleri önem, içsel denge, merhamet, teslimiyet ve toplumsal adalet gibi prensiplere verdikleri vurgu gibi konular araştırılmıştır. Böylelikle tasavvuf geleneğinin adalet anlayışının derinliği ve kapsamlılığı ortaya konmuştur. Sonuç olarak söz konusu mutasavvıfların adalet anlayışının dışsal hukuk sistemlerinin yanı sıra içsel denge, merhamet, teslimiyet ve toplumsal adalet gibi derin ve kapsamlı prensiplere dayandığı görülmüştür. Zira onlar adaleti sadece yasalara uymakla değil, aynı zamanda insanların iç dünyalarında denge, merhamet ve teslimiyetin varlığında da görmüşlerdir. Nitekim toplumsal adaletin sağlanması, sadece cezaların belirlenmesiyle değil, aynı zamanda insanların birbirlerine karşı merhametli, adil ve teslimiyet içinde olmalarıyla da gerçekleşir. Bu nedenle, mutasavvıfların adalet anlayışı dışsal hukuk sistemlerinin ötesinde, derin ve kapsamlı bir perspektife sahiptir. (shrink)

This essay attempts to elaborate a political theory of capital’s violence. Recent analyses have adopted Karl Marx’s notion of the “primitive accumulation of capital” for investigating the forcible methods by which the conditions of capital accumulation are reproduced in the present. I argue that the current scholarship is limited by a certain functionalism in its theorization of ongoing primitive accumulation. The analytic function accorded to primitive accumulation, I contend, can be better performed by the concepts of “capital-positing violence” and “capital-preserving (...) violence.” In coining these new concepts, I first refine the conceptual core of primitive accumulation as the coercive capitalization of social relations of reproduction, which falls into sharpest relief in the violent history of colonial capitalism. I then elucidate this conceptual core with reference to Carl Schmitt’s account of European colonial expansion and Walter Benjamin’s reflections on law-making and law-preserving violence. The resultant concepts of capital-positing and capital-preserving violence, I conclude, can illuminate both the historical and the quotidian operations of the politico-juridical force that has been constitutive of capitalism down to our present moment. Turkey has passed the import substitution economic model to a new model of the economy called open out since 1980. Along with the neoliberal policies implemented, the process of integration with the global economy has begun. The incomes of the religious people who cannot be excluded from the effects of this articulation also increased and their consumption behaviors has changed. On the other hand, some transport elements, especially the media, have enabled consumption codes to reach different segments. The new values (...) emerged in this process also caused transformations in individual consumption trends. In this study, the "Scale of Consumption Dynamics" (SCD) was developed in order to identify the trends of consumption of devotees and to find out how they changed. Quantitative research approach was adopted in the study and the datas were collected by face-to-face survey technique. The individuals included in our sample were selected by quota sampling. In this study, an expression pool was created as a result of literature review, expert opinion consultation, brainstorming with academicians and observations. The validity and reliability analysis of the scale was made using different statistics through the SPSS program. As a result of these steps, the dimensions of the scale consisting of 16 items and 3 dimensions are called "showy consumption", "wasteful consumption" and "religious priority consumption". Summary: The first studies on consumption history and sociology belong to Marx, Weber, Veblen and Simmel. In these studies consumption is examined as a part of production process and consumption forms were investigated as a social class aspect. Consumption phenomenon was later studied under critical approach (Frankfurt School) with Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Herbert Marcuse and Erich Fromm’s theories. Theorists at Frankfurt School study how social structure steers individuals to consumption. After the 1970’s, the meaning of consumption phenomenon has changed. There are studies by Jean Baudrillard, Mike Featherstone, George Ritzer, and Zygmunt Bauman on changing phenomenon of consumption. It is widely believed that modern consumption phenomenon was originated in the USA after the World War II. After the war Keynesian economic policies and Fordist consumption forms later influenced other Western nations. After 1950’s and 1960’s mass consumption was initiated in the USA and except very poor sections of the nations, other social classes, it started to spread out in Europe, the USA, and other countries. In 1970’s and 1980’s, it has merged with individuals’ identity definitions. After 1980’s in Turkey a new economic policy instead of import substitution was adopted. In application along with neo liberal policies, Turkey started to integrate to the rest of the World. Religious people as well influenced these changes and their incomes have increased along with their consumption habits. In addition to media, some other forms of communication channels have carried new consumption habits to other sections of the society. With the increased effects of mass communication media, new social sections have emerged and their cultural characteristics have become the norms of the whole society. A new values created in this process also transformed the consumption habits. In this article, in order to assess consumption habits of religious people as it is now and to understand which direction these habits evolve, Consumption Dynamics Scale (CDS) has been developed. Scales are widely used when a researcher tries to identify and measure respondents’ feelings and ideas on a subject matter. There are different scales used in social sciences such as Thurstone, Likert, Guttman, and Bogardus that are among the most widely used ones. A Likert Type scale has been used in this study. In the first phase of the study and pilot study 5 point Likert scale and in the second phase of the study 10 point Likert scales was used to collect the data. We could not come across with any study in the literature on investigating consumption characteristics Dynamics of individuals with a formal religious education. In the study, quantitative research method has been adopted and the research data has been collected with face to face administration of the survey instrument. The scale development phase lasted about 6 months from August, 2016. Based on 3% error rate, we determined to sufficient sample size as 516, yet we reached 600 individuals and end up with 563 usable responses. Sample has been determined with quota sampling methodology. We formed a pool of statements based on literature review, expert opinion, brain storming with academicians. 49 questions have been selected from the question pool where 93 questions were found, then they are merged, some questions are changed or totally eliminated and final 30 questioned questionnaires made ready for pilot study. Two pilot studies have been carried out. In the first pilot study, 47 people are reached and 30 questions with Likert scales have been administered. In the second phase of the study, 10 point Likert scales with 57 questions has been given to 54 individuals. After pilot studies, data was analyzed with SPSS 20 version and 32 questioned final survey instrument has been formed. In order to check sufficiency of data set for Factor Analysis Kaisser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test and the relationships among variables Bartlett test were used. Sample composed of 563 responses revealed significant results (3358,808, p=0,000) and KMO test revealed (KMO=0,812) value. After expletory factor analysis, factor loading less than 0,40 were deleted from the scale. Hence the final structure is composed of 29 questions with 8 different factors. The reliability of scales were calculated with Cronbach Alfa analysis separately for each dimension. After reliability analysis, items with 0,60 and less reliability score were taken out from the scales. Finally 16 items were made up 3 dimensions namely “ostentatious consumption”, “wasteful consumption”, and “religious priority consumption”. The items in Factor 1 are related with luxury, fashion and statue, in Factor 2 desire to make more shopping, purchase without need, advertisement and showcase, and factor 3 religious sensitive reference focus and religion first purchasing are decided as appropriate names. Based on the analysis, measurement was decided valid and sound. Therefore, this study is believed to contribute significantly to the existing literature. (shrink)

This article introduces some contemporary philosophical approaches to vulnerability including that of Judith Butler, while focusing on feminist legal theorist Martha Albertson Fineman's concept of the vulnerable subject, developed out of Fineman's earlier critiques of the autonomous, self-sufficient subject of liberal political philosophy. It then looks closely at the different forms of vulnerability exhibited by the leading protagonists of Mia Hansen-Løve's All Is Forgiven, Father of My Children, Goodbye First Love, Eden and Maya, all of whom except one are men, (...) drawing on Lawrence Schehr's writing about French postmodern masculinities and work by Geneviève Sellier on the changing dynamics of heterosexual gender relations in French cinema in order to forge an account of vulnerable male bodies and masculinities appropriate to the contemporary context of the films discussed. To conclude, it returns to Fineman to suggest that her at least implicitly feminist concept of the vulnerable subject can offer a more persuasive account of the gendered character of vulnerability in Hansen-Løve's films than can Butler's recent ethical writings.
